I met Liz many many years ago in Jamaica when her son Ian and my son Nick were besties in high school. Nick was always spending time at Liz's house, even after Ian and Alicia relocated to the UK. Nick became Liz's other son and he called her mum as she treated him like her own. Always counselling him and giving him sound advice. Nick migrated to the UK and went to live with Ian, who warmly welcomed him into his home.
Years later my other son Stef went to live with Liz and Ian in Manchester and agsin Liz became a mother figure to Stef. Liz was truly a remarkable woman, teacher, advocate for the poor and needy, and most of all a wonderful mother to her children Ian and Alicia and to all those she cared for.
My sincere condolences to Ian and Alicia and I know that her legacy lives on in both of you. Thanks to Liz and her children for always looking out for my children.
Liz lived a long life and a wonderful life, filled with adventure. May her soul sleep in peace with the Lord.
Love
Cecelia
